RED KNIGHTS DRUM & BUGLE CORPS, INC. ... CORPORATE MISSION
The Red Knights was organized Saturday October 10, 2009 at VFW Post #448
in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, by a group of drum corps veterans. Within an eight
month period the corps membership grew, equipment was purchased, and after
many rehearsals, a viable parade unit was ready to hit the streets. The corps has
plans to eventually enter field competition.
The Red Knights have, through their attorney, applied for 501(c)3 certification.
Since its inception, and into the future, the corporation's commitment is to bring
the joy of learning and performing the combined "art - sport" of drum and bugle
corps to all who wish to participate. This activity integrates music, marching,
dance, and visual design.
The corporation is not concerned about a person's sex, race, nationality, religion,
political persuasion, or age; experienced or novice, young or mature are welcome. The corporation supplies all instruments, equipment, and uniforms to its members.
Especially important to the corporation is that the underprivilaged have the opportunity to experience all of this, and gain values used throughout life.
These include friendships, the building of character and discipline, a sense
of accomplishment and confidence, and the ability to perform in public using
skills learned.
Lastly, it is the commitment of the corporation to participate in community
events that help to foster the arts and entertainment, as well as charitable causes to enhance the well being of individuals and organizations in need.
All of the above are pledged by the Red Knights Drum & Bugle Corps, Inc.
